Along with the latest developments in the mobile communications market, the number of fraud and scam cases related to the sector is also increasing.

The most common cases are calls or short messages received from international numbers (370XXXXXXXX, 371XXXXXXXX, 372XXXXXXXX, 373XXXXXXXX, 881XXXXXXXX, 882XXXXXXXX, 883XXXXXXXX, etc.) with the following content:“Posing as a telecom operator’s employee, they offer to activate or cancel a service (for example, 5G).”,“Posing as a bank employee, they attempt to obtain individuals’ banking details (for example, for loan issuance or cancellation).”,“You have won …” In such cases, when calling back, you may hear advertisements, noise, or just a dialing tone, etc. As a result, charges will be deducted from your account according to international call tariffs, which are significantly higher than those for local calls.

To avoid such cases, we recommend that you:

• never call back such kind of numbers;
• add the number to your phone’s blacklist (in case if it is a call) to avoid annoying incoming calls;
• to inform us about such cases by dialing 444 from your Ucom number and 011 444 444 from any other number, using our online help service, sending us an e-mail to 444@ucom.am, visiting any Ucom service center and getting in touch with us on our Facebook page.

These are the minimum steps you can take to help us protect you and prevent continuous growth of such cases by using stronger measures.
