  • 5G is the next-generation mobile network delivering faster, more reliable connections to Ucom subscribers. This cutting-edge technology opens new horizons for businesses and individuals across Armenia and worldwide, enabling complex and interactive solutions that drive innovation and accelerate digital technology development.

  • A range of smartphones running on Android and iOS operating systems support 5G network connectivity (excluding Samsung and Google Pixel devices, but Samsung S24 smartphones also support 5G network connectivity!).

  • All Ucom mobile voice subscribers, including prepaid, postpaid, and corporate plans (such as Level Up, Unity, etc.)-can access the 5G network. However, 5G is not yet available for mobile internet tariff plan users (such as uGo, uHome, etc.).

  • Compared to 4G, 5G provides faster and more stable connectivity.

  • A special SIM card is not required to connect to the 5G network. What matters is that your smartphone supports 5G technology.

  • Ucom has launched 5G using frequency division doubling with a non-standalone deployment methodology (Release 15, 3GPP). This approach integrates 5G technology with our existing 4G network infrastructure for optimal performance and coverage.
Our Non-Standalone 5G operates on a 4G LTE Evolved Packet Core (EPC) foundation. This architecture incorporates both 4G and 5G base stations, with the 4G infrastructure serving as the primary control system. Since the 5G control plane is anchored in the EPC, radio frequency signals are transmitted through the 4G base station.

Important Note: As with all mobile technologies, 5G (NSA) speeds may vary based on environmental factors and the number of users in the given area. In densely populated areas, near heavily loaded base stations, or at greater distances from serving base stations, download and upload speeds may be lower than the maximum potential throughput of your device.
