The main type of Shared Hosting is web hosting. It’s a service that allows private persons and organizations to create and place their own websites on servers having access to the Internet.

It’s a type of hosting, when many websites are located on the same server.

This is the most inexpensive type of hosting fit for implementation of small projects.

Basic services when using Shared Hosting:

Web hosting - a hosting service that provides a possibility to place your own websites on servers with a possibility to manage these sites by clients.

Mail service - e-mail, a service that ensures the operation of a private mail system. Mail service is devoid of advertising banners, has some protection against spam mailing, has one or more own domain names and supports the most common mail transfer protocols (SMTP, IMAP, Pop3)

• DNS service - a hosting service that provides a system for storing domain name records.
• Backup/Restore - a hosting service that provides a possibility to archive and restore client’s files.
• Log Analytics - analysis of logs for debugging and monitoring statistics of site visits.

Benefits of Shared Hosting or virtual hosting:

There is no need to have special skills, in order to work with hosting.

Hosting management is carried out by means of a convenient control panel supporting a multilingual interface.

Interface features. There is a possibility to exchange data via FTP-protocol, access to site visit statistics, and there are interfaces for configuring e-mail and DNS service, etc.

Minimizing costs. Savings in case of virtual hosting can make a significant amount, as in this case the hosting provider is responsible for 24-hour support of expensive server equipment, software configuration and regular updates, as well as for ensuring permanent Internet connection.

Disadvantages of Shared Hosting or virtual hosting:

You cannot install or modify the software by your own.

Physical resources (RAM, processor) are distributed among several clients. You are not the sole owner of all the physical resources of the server, as, for example, in case of a dedicated server (VPS).

Management of Shared Hosting or virtual hosting:

Customers are given the opportunity to administer their own services using web-based control panels. Ucom provides two different platforms with their own control panels - cPanel and ISP Manager.

Cloud services are available to both corporate and individual customers.

Corporate customers can access the services by calling 444 or by sending a request to the email address hosting@ucom.am Organizations must be registered in the Republic of Armenia.

Individual customers can register online via www.ucloudspace.am by simply providing a passport and giving online consent to the terms and conditions of the services. The individual must be a citizen of the Republic of Armenia.
